    I actually don't really want to talk about $CRCL anymore, I have no position, and I'm not going long or short, just reporting the news and sharing my view. My personal judgment is that the probability of renewal failure is very low. From the contract design, Circle and Coinbase don't even need to sign a new agreement in August to continue cooperation. The cooperation agreement signed on August 18, 2023 has an initial term of three years, expiring on August 18, 2026. However, the contract sets the formal assessment point 90 days before expiration, i.e., May 20, 2026, which is already almost two months past. If both parties have not reached a new amendment before that date, and both Circle and Coinbase meet the ongoing obligations stipulated in the agreement, the contract will automatically renew for three years under the original terms. So far, publicly disclosed information shows no party accusing the other of breach, nor any termination notice. Regarding the bank license issue, I have looked into it closely; essentially it's custodial, and custodial services don't earn much. Just look at Coinbase's custodial service for crypto ETFs. It's true that USDC can save money, but it still doesn't solve the payment problem, or rather it still can't solve the issue that profits rely solely on US Treasury yields.

    Teacher Phyrex, I’m half in agreement with this, and I’d like to share my view on the other half. The agreeing half: the market’s real doubts are about distribution and payments; this licensing issue indeed cannot answer that, the answer will be on the table in August when Coinbase renews. The other half: I think the statement “doesn’t solve revenue” actually underestimates the license. It’s not a compliance halo, it’s a cost-structure matter: the reserves are currently custodial at New York Mellon, the fund is managed by BlackRock, Circle pays for this every year, and once the license is in place, they will recoup that cost themselves; self-custody of reserves is the next step officially announced; institutional custody is also a new revenue line.     Update on yesterday’s @loyal_hq Seeker Summer allowance topic. I raised a warning after seeing a huge USDC approval left after the quest. After @candyflipline explained the design, it’s clear this comes from the Solana subscriptions + smart account flow. So the main issue was not “evil approval” — it was UX + communication. For regular users, PDA / recurring delegation / subscription authority means nothing. They just see a massive USDC allowance and get scared. The good part: the team acknowledged the communication issue and shipped an update to the autodeposit flow. That’s a positive ending imo. Community feedback, dev response, product improvement. That’s how Seeker ecosystem should grow 🫡
