    👮‍♂️ 28 pedophiles, arrested in 7 countries, were using Monero to fund dark‑web forums. A large international operation coordinated by the Norwegian police (Kripos) and Europol led to the arrest of 28 men aged 22 to 54 in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Canada. The suspects used the cryptocurrency Monero (XMR) to pay for access to dark‑web forums distributing child sexual abuse content. According to investigators, a new method developed in 2025 allowed certain Monero transactions in this case to be traced. The operation also secured three children, seized more than 460 items, including electronic devices, crypto wallets, narcotics and performance‑enhancing products. Europol states that one of the suspects heavily used artificial intelligence to generate pedocratic content, while some victims were close associates of another arrested individual. Authorities indicate that further arrests are still expected.

    Europe is regulating privacy away From 2027 the next level of EU anti‑money‑laundering rules will apply: a €10,000 cash limit, stricter KYC obligations from €1,000 for crypto transactions, and a de‑facto ban on anonymous crypto accounts with regulated providers. Privacy coins such as Monero, Zcash or Dash are therefore not prohibited to own, but are effectively pushed out by licensed platforms. The pattern is clear: MiCA has already pushed USDT out of many regulated EU venues, AMLR is now targeting privacy itself. Europe does not ban crypto. It only makes crypto increasingly identifiable. Every wallet will eventually have to have a name.
