    NEAR is making another change to its tokenomics the developer gas rebate is being removed expected to August 2026 (nearcore v2.14) > before: 30% of all gas fees paid to smart contract calls were allocated to the smart contract owner, while 70% were burned > after: the gas rebate will be set to 0%, meaning 100% of all gas fees paid on NEAR will be burned -- contributing to making $NEAR deflationary in the long run this happens after a massive approval on @NEARGovernance + 46 votes (4.66M veNEAR) + only 2 votes against (1,819 veNEAR) i voted FOR it (and I was one of the first large delegates to cast a vote in this proposal -- also one of the few taking the discussion to X in a thread open for community participation and opinion) seems like a positive change, overall LFG!
