hackers are inventing new ways to drain you. they are now compromising the tools devs use in building. that is exactly what happened this week. a malicious version of an @injective npm package was published. this turned a trusted dev tool into a malware designed to steal wallet credentials and private keys. devs who installed the compromised package could unknowingly expose sensitive secrets. the attack happened before an application even reached users. that's why chains need to be more vigilant. this type of attack sits at the root and can spread so much. it doesn't matter how secure your smart contracts are if the software used to build them has already been poisoned. they call it a software supply chain attack. the malicious package was identified and removed from npm. devs were urged to replace the affected version. attacks like these have happened before: > in 2018, attackers compromised the event-stream npm package to steal private keys from Copay Bitcoin wallet users. > in 2021, the popu
