According to the Bangkok Post, Thailand's Ministry of Interior, Provincial Electricity Authority, police and local administrative officials carried out inspections at 14 illegal Bitcoin mining sites across five provinces in the northeast, seizing 315 cryptocurrency mining rigs. Investigators found that the sites had tampered with electricity meters and illegally connected power to operate the mining equipment. The report estimates the total losses at 40.38 million baht (approximately $1.24 million), including a 5.38 million baht (about $165,000) electricity violation fine and roughly 35 million baht (about $1.07 million) unpaid electricity fees.
