    Paradigm closed its $1.2B fund a few days ago, but i think most people focused on the wrong headline the amount wasn’t the signal the mandate was Eight years ago, it was a crypto-native fund. Today, it backs crypto, AI, robotics, defense, manufacturing, and autonomous systems it is not necessarily a mission drift its a recognition that the frontier has moved Paradigm now describes itself as a frontier technology investment firm rather than simply a crypto VC that shift is telling… AI absorbed the majority of global startup funding in Q2 2026, while crypto continued attracting billions in fresh capital. the opportunity isn’t one replacing the other - its where the two begin to converge Autonomous agents, robotics, and machine-to-machine commerce all need a way to coordinate value Onchain settlement remains one of the most credible candidates for that layer. viewed through that lens, investments across Hyperliquid, Kalshi, Zipline, and true Anomaly dont look disconnected they look like different pieces
